Building resilience and a stronger foundation for the business are two of the goals that restaurants should consider for 2023.<\/p>\n<p>Success is never achieved overnight, nor is it constant, as the landscape shifts every day. Diners\u2019 expectations vary, and the seasons change \u2013 no longer are there four clearly defined seasons, but six instead, or as some chefs say \u2013 there are 365!<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;Success is never an accident, it needs a plan.&#8221; \u2013 Jenny<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>A goal without a timeline is merely a dream, so it\u2019s vital to put timelines in place. No business is successful without a plan, just as the realisation of goals is never an accident. Visualising the result is crucial, and the perfect starting point for a goal-setting session. Ask yourself what the ideal scenario is for your business \u2013 is it full house every day, winning <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dineplan.com\/blog\/category\/all-posts\/awards-and-reviews\/\">awards<\/a> or simply keeping it fruitful, one service at a time? Setting quarterly and monthly goals, then weekly and daily, makes success more possible. Committing these goals in writing is essential, and keeping them visible for the team is a constant reminder of what you are striving for, together.<\/p>\n<h4>Setting goals for your restaurant<\/h4>\n<p>There are a few rules for preparing a winning game plan \u2013 always be:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Flexible<\/strong> \u2013 know that the goals you set at the beginning of the year may need to be tweaked seasonally, with staff changes and diners\u2019 expectations \u2013 and when competitors show you up!<\/li>\n<li><strong>Realistic<\/strong> \u2013 make sure that your goals are achievable.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Motivational<\/strong> \u2013 work out how your contribution to the team adds value.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Evolutionary<\/strong> \u2013 keep on aiming at improvements. When diners rave about their meal, don\u2019t change it, but communicate the comments to a broader audience.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Committed<\/strong> \u2013 never be complacent even when winning awards, getting outstanding reviews or playing to a full house.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Adaptable<\/strong> \u2013 try to ring the changes so that regulars become more regular in their visits.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Creative<\/strong> \u2013 visualise your &#8220;win&#8221;. What does success mean to you and your team? Profits, purpose or passion?
