{"id":53,"date":"2020-06-29T13:49:27","date_gmt":"2020-06-29T11:49:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.dineplan.com\/blog\/?p=53"},"modified":"2023-04-20T15:48:45","modified_gmt":"2023-04-20T13:48:45","slug":"dineplan-survey-thousands-of-diners-respond-to-restaurants-reopening","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.dineplan.com\/blog\/dineplan-survey-thousands-of-diners-respond-to-restaurants-reopening\/","title":{"rendered":"DINEPLAN SURVEY: Thousands of Diners Respond to Restaurants Reopening"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size\">Published 2020\/06\/29<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Thousands of diners across South Africa have dished out their expectations for dining out after lockdown.<\/em><\/strong><br><br>Tourism Minister Mmamoloko Kubayi-Ngubane announced restaurants are allowed to reopen Monday.<br><br>Dineplan conducted a survey over the past two weeks to gather crucial information that would help restaurants put the best possible plans in place for guests to make a comfortable return.<br><br>More than 3,300 people responded to the survey, of which 53% were from the Western Cape and 48% over the age of 46 years.<br><br>Most participants said they will be eating out within 30 or 60 days of reopening, and only 1% stated they will not be dining out at all in the foreseeable future.<br><br>The majority said they are looking forward to visiting a casual restaurant first, with fine dining coming in second, and are happy to pay a serving fee to cover hygiene costs.<br><br>The top five safety precautions consumers said they want to see are rigorous sanitising of chairs and tables between bookings, daily employee temperature checks, temperature checks for all guests, digital menus on mobile phones, and employees wearing masks.<br><br>In response to the survey data and to further assist the restaurant industry come out of the lockdown, Dineplan introduced software functionalities free of charge such as digital menus and a Covid-19 Guest Manager which includes electronic declaration and temperature.<br><br>If you have any questions, contact us by emailing support@dineplan.com \ud83d\ude0a<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Published 2020\/06\/29 Thousands of diners across South Africa have dished out their expectations for dining out after lockdown.
