9th Avenue Waterside is a fine-dining restaurant located in the Durban yacht mole, off the city's picturesque Esplanade. Every feature of the establishment defines its character - from its location in the harbor, to the innovative design and menu and ultimately, to the exceptional dining experience. The intimate setting is complimented by the warmth of the inspired front-of-house team and the kitchen brigade, led by Head Chef, Theodorus Chiloane. Our mission is to inspire people to enjoy and appreciate food and dining, in a new way - from the communities we support producing sustainably farmed food and beverages, to the professionalism and knowledge of our staff, service and hospitality. The upstairs Cocktail Lounge provide the ideal space to de-stress after a busy day, meet with friends or business colleagues or host a private function. 9th Avenue Waterside also offers a variety of spaces for weddings, engagements, business events, product launches and special calendar days.     The food was amazing especially the sauce the chef demonstrated with the starter bread. It was very tasty. Our waiter delivered spectacular service. Fortunately, enough the long table that was booked downstairs and us are mutual friends and our accounts of service from the restaurant manager was day and night. We had a negative distasteful account of her subtle rude behaviour but we did our level best to not get stuck on it and Nhlakanipho compensated for it very well. She should not serve patrons if she has interpersonal issues. e.g. asked for two tables to moved - did not instruct any waiter to do it, eventually we did it ourselves. table downstairs was loud but only made an issue of our joyous celebrations.

    Foos was not the best, it was blend.. lacked seasoning portions were too small especially the salmon.. please review it it literally had two green beans and two strips of carrots

    Honestly, the 10% discretionary isnt even enough for the impeccable service. Our server was so attentive that our glasses were never empty for more than a minute and so observant of our table even though it was quite busy. I’ll be back again and again and again and again!

    I recommended the place for outing with colleagues . I must say I was disappointed ☹️, had high expectations based on reviews . We ordered 6 different starters from the menu for sharing, only 2 were good. The mains, portion are extremely small.
