Abi’z is the brainchild and baby of Sheldon and Shona, a hubby and wife team who have followed their hearts and landed up with a coffee shop/ bakery/ wine bar/ restaurant. We live by a few phrases and life goals; life is too short to drink bad coffee, the youth of today probably never smelt freshly baked bread (the loaves that our parents used to buy), good wine needs to be enjoyed by everyone!

Abi’z is all about family-owned, small businesses and shopping local. Everything is made with a little extra love, with a story behind each picture on the wall and a space that you can feel at home.

    We were the only people in the restaurant and yet the service was very slow. We were also told that the kitchen was closing at 7:30pm which we felt was very early. Post always having a wonderful experience at Abi’z, I’m not sure it’s what it used to be.

    Xmas lunch. The food was appaling. Presentation very poor. We only had the starters and left when the mains were served an hour or more after the starters as the food was unappatising. All in all a very bad experience and had no resemblence to the Instagram post advertising the lunch.

    Horrific. After waiting 45 minutes for drinks, we eventually went to the bar to collect them ourselves, only to be told we have to wait for the waiter.. 3 hours waiting for food, we cancelled the order and left.. When chatting to the owner at the end to express our frustration, we were greeted with the response "it doesnt matter, thank goodness im selling this place anyway''... We will not be returning

    Hi Lee, we are unhappy to see this review. We obviously did not expect the function yesterday to go as it did, but being booked over capacity as requested by the band, put us in a very sensitive situation. We apologise for you having to wait for your drinks and food. Please note that we have gone back on our systems and cannot find any order that took longer than 1 hour 50 mins to go out. The longest was pizza and only because our orders were backlogged in that department. Regarding your comment about approaching the owner, we believe that numerous comments were made from the gentleman accompanying you slating our restaurant and operations, hence his defensive response. Our restaurant does not operate like this on a day to day basis so hopefully if you do ever have a chance to come back, please do and we will change your overall opinion.
