Aegir Project Taproom is a family-friendly restaurant in Noordhoek, Cape Town, with a brewery at its heart.

Since opening our doors in 2015 as a small, passion-fuelled brewery obsessed with pushing the boundaries on flavour, we’re proud to have grown into the kind of welcoming home-away-from-home where locals and visitors alike can sit down and have a laugh over great food and superb beer.

Whether you’re taking in the view of Noordhoek Beach from the sundowner deck with an icy pint in hand, tucking into one of our hand-stretched, Neapolitan-style sourdough pizzas, or sampling our killer coffee while the kids tear through the playground, our aim is to make you feel like family.

Beautiful view from the deck, but this is really a place for a beer and snack. The food is average and descriptions overstate contents. The aioli was just mayo. The korean fried chicken burger was more like kentucky fried chicken, with no trace of the gochujang sauce that was advertised. Rather manage your customers’ expectations with simple and honest descriptions of the dishes. For families with young kids, there’s a playground. We found it noisy and distracting, but for a young family looking for an alternative to the Spur, Aegir would be good.
