Welcome to The Bistro & Tasting Room at Brookdale Estate!

Ours is a true Cinderella tale … What was once a forgotten vineyard, overgrown and underused, is now a significant site for exceptional wines, creative cuisine, and abundant beauty.

Here, delicious menus designed by seasoned Executive Chef, Gary Coetzee, are brought together with wines grown on the surrounding vines and vinified by our dynamic winemaking duo, Xander Sadie and Shanice du Preez.

We have selected a blend of varietals for our vineyards and locally-sourced ingredients for our menus that honour the region, whilst showcasing new ideas, combinations and techniques.

Sip, taste, savour and discuss our minimalistic, terroir-driven wines which accompany dishes inspired by international flavours and local produce.

The Bistro at Brookdale promises a relaxed, contemporary Cape Winelands dining experience. Expect beautiful, soulful dishes, enjoyed with our wines, while at the Tasting Room, you will sample the latest terroir-driven vintages from our cellar made in ever-evolving styles.

Open your mind, and palate, to the possibility of the Paarl Winelands and Stay Curious...

It was our third visit to the Vineyard and Bistro. We came away feeling very disappointed. We had booked in advance and yes I had indicated a preference for the terrace. However it was an extremely hot day. We asked if we could be seated inside or on a more shaded table. The table we were offered was in the full sun. We were told to accept table or leave. The staff were not as friendly as we have experienced in the past. We were saved by two other guests who said we were welcome to join them on their table. 2 wonderful people on a table for 6. The waiter /waitress were not as previously experienced. We felt like we were in wanted guests even though the lovely couple said we cd share their table. Just not a great experience

Due to the heatwave , booking was for inside , they attempted to put us outside, after showing them they put us inside after a 20 minute wait being it’s and offered nothing at all ! Regrettably the table inside was by the broken aircon , so it was unbearably hot ! Eventually after we asked after 30 minutes we were moved to a cooler table ( the table I had booked ) ( only 1 aircon works in the entire restaurant) , the sides for the meal only arrived 10 minutes after the main was served , also had to notify them that only half my deposit was subtracted from the bill , very unpleasant experience. Nicole the waitress was good , the ambiance and views stunning , but I dont suggest visiting when the weather is hot and check your bill at the end !

Always perfect! Their summer menu includes a Green Gazpacho starter, which was out of this world.
