Located at 84 Harrington Street, East City Grill & Yakiniku brings two dining concepts
under one roof — a celebration of South African heritage and Asian flair, led by Executive
Chef Jaycee Ferreira.
At East City Grill, Ferreira’s flame-led cooking and local Wagyu define a menu rooted in
South African tradition yet shaped by Asian influence and Cape Town’s modern edge.
Across the room, Yakiniku offers an immersive Japanese-style grill experience inspired by
Tokyo’s smoky yakiniku-ya, where guests cook, share, and connect around the flame.
Housed within a landmark hemp building designed by Wolf & Wolf Architects, it’s two
flames, one destination, and a new rhythm for the city.

    A great meal and even better service. It may be that it was a Tuesday so it was rather quiet but we had a lovely girls dinner club here.

    Our first time here and would definitely return. Menu was so appealing, hence difficult to choose but all our dishes were great. Highlights were the fish nigiri and calamari starters and top mains were the lamb chops and the compressed wagyu beef short rib. Fantastic service, great decor and vibe.

    its the second time I have had the privilege of going to East City Grill, and she really did not disappoint. We tried something slightly different and ordered 1 large steak for the table and lots and lot of different starter dishes. The food was out of this world. Delicious, tender, tasty, scrumptious, and whatever other words put mouth-watering into your mouth. The service was amazing; the entire team needs to be complimented. Do yourself a favour and treat yourself to a visit.
