Folk Cafe is a family friendly restaurant located in St James, beside the iconic St James tidal pool. Folk offers an excellent variety of food, with a focus on using ethical ingredients (free range, grass fed and organic) that are locally sourced and produced wherever possible.

All of the cakes are baked in house and food from the seasonal menu is made fresh, and to order, for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The wood fired pizza can't be beat! There is also an extensive wine offering, beer on tap, milkshakes and smoothies for those with a sweet tooth, plus we roast and distribute our own signature coffee.

The location offers a playground for the kids and a sea view for the adults, live music every Saturday afternoon and a large outdoor area to accommodate bigger groups.

    If you are looking for a place which is peaceful, with plenty of parking, where you can watch the trains come and go, hear the sea, and enjoy a nice coffee in the shade with friends, this is a good choice. We didn't eat anything, but the iced latte's were good on a hot day.

    We enjoyed the lunch. Friendly, attentive service. Sitting outside had one big downer - flies. Maybe management could look at ways to mitigate the problem?
