The Restaurant at Grande Provence is open 7 days a week, for lunch and dinner. High-backed chairs upholstered in white leather draw the eye to the centre of the deep blue-grey hand-plastered walls, while deeply recessed windows frame the picturesque view from the interior. Crisp white linen napery criss-crosses the table tops and the polished glasses and cutlery gleam with care and attention. Over the winter months the flickering light of a log fire joins the candlelight to enhance the warmth and attentive hospitality at The Restaurant. Leading off The Restaurant is the welcoming wine-tasting area. The bar dominates the centre of the room – striking in galvanised steel with black strapping. A touch of fun is evident with the tractor seat bar stools, while a fireplace and upholstered chairs soften the perimeter of the room, inviting guests savour every sip of the Estates award-winning wines.

As a smoker I felt that the area, allocated did not value me as a customer.

I'm so glad we opted for a chilled picnic instead of a lunch. We have lunches and dinners everywhere so it was a nice change. Plus we could lay down in the sun/shade and relax awhile which is nice when you are wine tasting all day :)

We ate in the Bistro as against the restaurant as we only wanted a snack lunch. The food was awful-my chicken burger comprised dry grilled chicken, toasted bun a leaf of salad and a slice of tomato. My wifes salmon salad was dull with an acidic dressing. The service was poor-we had to ask for cutlery, water etc. We have visited your winery on each occasion that we travel to Franschhoek from the UK and it remains one of our favourite vineyards for its setting , art and culture displays. In the past we have eaten in the main restaurant and have also enjoyed an Easter picnic with you a couple of years ago, but this visit to the Bistro was the worse meal by far that we have had in our six visits to Franschhoek

As a party of 12 it is very hard to satisfy everyone but we all had a superb time and I would highly recommend again
