La Motte invites you to JAN Franschhoek, an exceptional food and wine experience presented from a charming historic cottage, the Veepos, right in the middle of the Franschhoek Valley’s most picturesque lavender fields. Based on the popular TV series, JAN Franschhoek, this seasonal culinary encounter shares a nostalgic story with food as told by South Africa’s first Michelin-starred chef, Jan-Hendrik van der Westhuizen.

JAN Franschhoek’s team will include a culinary collective led by JAN Group Executive Chef Antro Davel operating under Jan Hendrik as Culinary Director.

Dinner & lunch is served at one communal table.

    Amazing evening! Thank you for the experience!! The aniseed bread wasn’t soft enough. Maybe it was baked way before the dinner has started. Everything else was perfect!

    The one element that superseded everything else when dining at Jan Franschhoek, is the communal table setting. It is beyond magical and the conversations and connections made over glasses of wine and incredible food whilst being taken care of so well, made the experience unbelievable. I truly believe all dining experiences should include a communal table, as that is wherein the true magic lies. Thank you for creating an unforgettable experience, Team Jan Franschhoek!

    An incredible culinary adventure Out lunch at JAN was an exceptional experience. Every single detail is curated to perfection. It's not just about the food, it's about the decor, environment and the service delivery. From the moment you arrive the team make you feel incredibly special. Loved the ride in the vintage combi to our picture-perfect lunch venue set in the lavender fields. The ritual begins with your hands being washed and a delicious palate cleanser. As you enter the dining room everything is designed to delight your senses. Each course was a taste sensation and one we will never forget. If you've thinking of booking - go right ahead - what an absolute treat. I won't share too much - let it be your surprise.

    What an amazing gastronome experience ! It just all works to make it a very special event! Food pairings with the wines chosen work very well. Showcases the lovely offerings from the western cape.
