The sister restaurant to the award-winning La Colombe Restaurant in Constantia. Contemporary fine dining in Franschhoek, now situated at the beautiful Leeu Estates.

La Colombe (the dove) has consistently received worldwide acclaim and is positioned among the top restaurants in the world.

Visitors to Franschhoek can now look forward to experiencing the same level of service excellence and exquisite cuisine that has put La Colombe on the map – but with a new venture comes a new twist.

Gourmet Guide Description

The immaculate gardens and vineyards of the luxurious Leeu Estate in Franschhoek afford a breathtaking backdrop for gastronomic artistry, contributing directly to the plate. A trilogy of snacks is served ‘picnic-style’ in the lounge with a welcome drink. An olive, paying homage to the estate’s produce and head chef Peter Duncan’s travels to Barcelona, pops in your mouth, to kick-start the epicurean adventure. Delicacies with lasting flavours, like oysters with carne asada and grapefruit, and Namibian snow crab, immediately highlight the restaurant’s numerous accolades and awards.

With the chef’s full-experience menu, you’ll be sated from the start. From the langoustine salad to the crayfish peri-peri with ponzu and the yellowfin tuna with dhania and coconut, there is a fairytale coupling of local and international inspirations. Courses like the bread (the sourdough starter proudly presented to the table by the chef), the linefish viskop chowder (an ode to his father) and the dessert of stone fruit, almond, and crème fraîche (this one’s for mom), offer a glimpse into Peter’s heart and heritage.

Each supreme plate is eloquently paired with wines on either the classic or the fancy side, and the non-alcoholic pairings (wines and beer) are imaginative, as are the cocktails.
