Sushi legend Hatsushiro Muraoka, fondly known as Papa San, joined forces with chef-partner Ben Bettendorf to open Obi on Long Street. We reported in May that the two saw Obi as an opportunity to showcase the clean flavours of Japanese cuisine, and this they do here with simplicity and skill.

    The food was excellent as always. The restaurant was very busy so the service was a bit less attentive than normal.

    always loved Obi & always will. Been going there since years! The original tempura roll is my favorite! So are the salmon skin snacks, the age dashi tofu & nusa misu.
