Along with formal training in Europe, Chef Nicolene Barrow worked at the world-famous Le Gavroche Restaurant in London before setting up Orangerie at Le Lude. Here classical French cuisine is presented with a contemporary twist; the purist, disciplined approach of the European masters combined with a hint of individual, modern creativity where what is on the plate is presented looking as good as it tastes.

A seasonal menu offers the finest, freshest ingredients found in the forests, meadows, mountains and seas of the Cape, resulting in a selection of dishes offered in an environment conducive to making permanent Franschhoek memories.

    Great food and service in a stunning setting. We ordered sides of Millie fuille and corn fritters and they were delicious too. Great MCC!

    Orangerie at Le Lude never disappoints. From the beautiful setting to the incredible food this is a must dine destination. The service is impeccable. The chef has clearly put heart and soul into each thoughtful dish. The soufflés are not to be missed. It is my must do on every trip to Franschoek.

    I cannot fault any aspect of our lunch. The cheese soufflé has to be a MUST when visiting.
