Your Italian Restaurant in Cape Town

The Cousins Trattoria was an idea created by Andrea, Simone and Luca who wanted to bring their knowledge and passion for food to Cape Town.

These cousins from Romagna, on the Adriatic coast of Italy, have lived in (and loved) Cape Town for many years, but felt there was not a place in the city where they could find the simple, authentic Italian food they had grown up with, in their homeland.

So joining their skills, they opened The Cousins Trattoria, where Andrea makes fresh pasta every morning, using only fresh and natural ingredients, just like Mama does! Bread and tiramisu are baked daily; great coffee and a passion for service makes this easy going place a heaven for the senses.

    The warmth and friendliness of the place is a treasure.please keep it up. the food is top class and the pretentiousness is what gives it so much charm. we did have to wait for a coffee that was missed on the order and despite asking a few times it took alot longer than I would have expected. However, Thembi got it to us eventually with a smile and it did not detract to much from a great evening out. This is now on my list of regulars, for family and clients.

    Starter (burrata) - not as expected and appeared very different from what I am used to. Not my favourite. Main: Tagliatelle carbonara - excellent Desert (tiramisu) - very good Service - a bit slow in terms of keeping up with drinks

    The food was delicious and fresh and well presented. Authentic Italian meals. The service was good. Staff friendly. One of the cousins chatted to us and made us feel most welcome. All in all a great experience.

    Really lovely relaxed cozy place. Excellent Ravioli in tomato base. Cousin's creamy pasta in cheese wheel is also delicious. Strachan... something twisted pasta is very thick and too much pasta for sauce. Tiramisu was light and delicately flavoured. Perfect evening.
