    Beef bourguignon did not have that much flavour and although there was sauce the meat was dry. The fillet was o-k. Not as amazing as I remembered it to be 2 years ago. The prices have shot up tremendously. I would rather go the the Vleispaleis. Food is much better tasting and prices are reasonable.

    My overall experience at The Fat Butcher was excellent. The food was flavorful and very well prepared; their menu reflects their value as a butchery-based restaurant with their prime cuts being available for viewing before ordering. They have an extensive range of high-quality wines, that won't fail to please the palate. The waiters and hosts were also extremely accommodating, even though they were quite busy serving other patrons. A special thanks to Damion, as his menu recommendations and fun personality are really what makes the restaurant stand out. I would suggest anyone to go here at least once if they're near Stellenbosch. It is quite expensive, but with a decent bit of planning, you could spoil yourself and not break the bank. I do plan on visiting again in the future and trust I will have an even better experience. Thank you to the entire team that made the night worthwhile.
