The Wild Fig Restaurant is a fully licensed Restaurant and Bar situated on a portion of the historic Valkenburg Estate. Our bar is situated in the original barn which is a National Monument. We have beautiful outdoor seating areas as well as private dining areas. We cater for all manner of events such as functions, conference, weddings, cocktail functions, breakfasts and celebrations.

    Subject: Heartfelt Thanks to the Wild Fig Team Dear Wild Fig Team, I just wanted to say a very big and sincere thank you to everyone who played a role in making our Sunday celebration so special. I called on Thursday, 19 June, with a last-minute request to book for 20 people for the Sunday roast to celebrate a 21st birthday, with the hope of having a semi-private or dedicated space. From the moment I spoke to George, I knew we were in good hands. He was friendly, understanding, and so accommodating, nothing felt like too much trouble. He even followed up, which really stood out and gave us peace of mind leading up to the day. On the day of the event, everything came together beautifully. We were welcomed warmly and made to feel at home. Our amazing waitress D, what an absolute gem! From the moment she stepped in, she was friendly, attentive, and always checking in on us with a smile. Her warmth and service truly elevated the experience. I’d also like to acknowledge the male waiter who assisted on the day, I’m so sorry I can’t recall his name, but he was just as helpful and kind. Please pass on our thanks to him too. The manager or supervisor on duty was also incredibly supportive and present throughout. It’s rare these days to feel that genuine care and effort from every member of a team, but that’s exactly what we experienced. Now let’s talk about the food, wow! Everyone is still talking about it. The presentation, the flavours, the portions, absolutely perfect. You delivered on taste, value for money, and quality. It was everything we hoped for and more. The setup of the space was spot on, it felt comfortable, intimate, and just right for the occasion. You really went the extra mile, and it didn’t go unnoticed. Please extend our deepest gratitude to the entire Wild Fig team. You helped create lasting memories for our family and friends, and we are so grateful. We are already looking forward to the next family event, we’ll definitely, be back, and we’ll be recommending you to everyone we know. With heartfelt thanks, The Bailey Family

    We waited long for our food. My steak was rare and I wanted it pink. They took it back, I had to wait another half an hour for my food. Everyone had finished their meal. My steak was very well done and dry. Was very disappointed.

    The Wild Fig has been my default favourite restaurant over the years, however, it has become even more of a favourite as its consistent quality in service, friendliness and food offering have not disappointed, and at affordable prices. The ambience in winter and summer is a great value. 2 years ago I chose to have my 60th birthday at the wild fig🌺❤️🙏🏽during August and it was a huge success.

    Really great for a cozy mid-week winter's meal, good food and lovely staff. Only negative was the aggressive car guard afterward who seemed to expect a large tip based on the car I was driving - left a nasty taste.

    I do love the Wild Fig, there's a lovely fire in winter, it's got such a lovely warm and embracing feeling to it. A really old historic building, kept in 100% authentic condition,. The food was excellent, a good wine list and super friendly service
