is all about fire, flavour and the primal connection between food and flame.

Under the direction of chef-owner Shaun Scrooby, VUUR redefines cooking over an
open fire by utilising the raw intensity of fire as both an ingredient and a technique.

At VUUR, fire is more than just a cooking method – it is a philosophy. Every dish is
carefully crafted with open flames, embers and smoke, enhancing the natural flavours of the finest ingredients sourced from local farmers, butchers and foragers.

The restaurant embodies a deep respect for nature, sustainability and the purity of elemental cooking.

Whether choosing VUUR Private Dining, sharing the experience with
other guests at the VUUR Goose Island Social Table, or viewing the chefs conjuring up their magic by sitting at the Chef’s Counter on Goose Island, you will be exposed to a magical theatre of cooking on open flames and bedazzled by the flavours extracted from the different types of wood used.

    We visited VUUR after seeing it ranked #51 on the World’s Best Steak Restaurants list, so our expectations were high. Unfortunately, it was a huge disappointment. The venue felt basic, outdated and not as clean or hygienic as expected. The dining room was freezing because the door had to stay open due to the smoke from the grill, and all of our clothes smelled of smoke afterwards. The food was equally disappointing. The starter was far too salty, the steak was swimming in butter and tasted more of butter than beef, and the dessert was simply awful. For the price we paid, we’ve had far better steak dinners at many ordinary restaurants. I genuinely don’t understand how this restaurant is ranked among the world’s best, and I wouldn’t recommend it.

    Definitly one of the best resturant experiances I have ever had. The food was amazing and the staff super friendly. Will definitly advise people to go and experiance this

    We enjoyed a lovely lunch at beautiful Vuur restaurant. Master of Wines and hosting, Curtney made us feel very welcome and graciously introduced each perfectly paired wine with each course. Chef Malaika and Marc prepared each course to perfection, their warmth, fine sense of humor and approachable kindness made the food experience even better. Each course and it's inspiration was fun, well balanced. Just perfect. I loved the alternative mocktails made from local produce by Leroy. Absolutely delicious. Highly recommend this lovely experience.

    We had an amazing experience and meal at VUUR and we would like to thank our lovely waiter Curtney for incredible service and Chef Liam for a masterful display on fire cooking. Food was delicious and very well presented and wines served were excellent. The "flamberdoo" was very special and brought fantastic theatre of food to the occasion and dessert.
