Our 18th century classic Cape Dutch building, that originally served as the cellar, has come full circle. Now home to Vergenoegd Löw’s Wine Lounge for superb wine experiences and a relaxed, refined and family-friendly, farm-to-table Restaurant, where the menu is inspired by our wines. Both conceived by renowned Cape gastronomist Michelle Theron.

All wines carry the imprint of the sea, less than 5km away. Cooling Atlantic Oceans winds slow down ripening to yield fruit rich in concentration and balance. We call our location merroir: a combination of mer/sea and terroir.

Wine Lounge
Sample award-winning wines across themes or savour with local artisanal food flavours in cheese and charcuterie. We also offer our Cap Classique matched with traditional sweet treats.
A highlight is the signature Indigenous Food & Wine Pairing: 7 wines, 7 paired dishes featuring local, native ingredients and flavours, and 7 stories that celebrate local flavour ingenuity and inventiveness.

Restaurant
Dishes are made from ingredients raised regeneratively in soils brimming with life, and seasons dictate the mood and the food. Monday to Saturday, dine from the à la carte menu. Sunday Celebrations are for sharing generous tables laden with plentiful platters. Families, friends and fellow-diners gather round to delight in nature’s abundance.

Booked Christmas lunch at Gewels(Harvest Style) The starter was incredible (10/10) The mains were slightly dry, the chicken. The lamb was cooked nice and soft. Sides beautifully done. Desert let me down. It was underwhelming , the madeleine situation dry. Shortbread too sweet and tasted like it was prepared too early. The Panna cotta was ok. Maybe a simple cheesecake would have sealed the deal. The wine was too warm. We topped up our wine, service was great at first then our waiter seemed to have forgotten about us. We got ice but to drown wine in ice is awful. Overall 7/10 for the experience.

Billy did a very good job on our tasting experience. It was very noisy in the tasty room as t he other guests were noisy and had a baby with them, but other than that it was great. The Duck parade was the highlight.

Had a great time at the farm for my mom's birthday. The service was great, Nyasha was excellent is explaining the wines. The Chardonnay is excellent, no wonder it's sold out. Charcuterie 10/10. Love the chickens moving around and making noise :- )

What a wonderful oasis this is! Sitting in the sunshine enjoying some of the best wine on offer in South Africa along with some tasty snacks, well life just couldn't be better could it? We tried the indigenous tasting and found it both enjoyable and educational, certainly better than a bag of crisps or packet of twiglets. Oh, and make sure you're there to see the ducks (9am or 12 noon) they are so funny!

The food on the charcuterie platter looked amazing, but the portions were minute. Barely enough to taste alongside the various wines. At R400 each, I felt that the experience could only have been aimed at Euro, GBP and USD bank account holders - definitely not the same quantity of food as other wine establishments’ charcuterie or cheese platters. Pretty disappointed.
