Social Media Manager


We’re looking for a senior Social Media Manager to take the lead on all things social at Dineplan. This is a hands-on role where you’ll manage our social media end-to-end – from strategy to content creation, posting, reporting, and community management.

At Dineplan, we speak to two audiences: diners and restaurateurs. You’ll create fun, engaging content for food lovers while also communicating confidently and professionally with our restaurant partners.

We’re growing fast, so we need someone self-starting, strategic, AI-savvy and deeply knowledgeable about the South African food and dining scene.

This is a full-time, hybrid role based in Claremont, Cape Town (4 days in office, 1 day remote). You’ll be a key player in growing Dineplan’s social presence and shaping how we connect with South Africans who love food and dining out.


Responsibilities:

  • Platform management: Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube
  • Content creation: Plan, design, and publish daily posts (image and video). Source and edit content from restaurant partners, and shoot original content when needed.
  • Content strategy: Turn marketing goals into actionable social media plans (annual, monthly, weekly). Keep the brand voice and visuals consistent across platforms.
  • Audience growth & engagement: Grow our following, increase engagement, and run campaigns, including social media giveaways.
  • Paid & influencer campaigns: Work with the Digital Campaign Manager on boosted posts and influencer partnerships. Coordinate with the PR team to plan, brief, and maximise ROI from influencer campaigns.
  • Community management: Respond to comments, DMs, and story replies promptly and professionally. Foster engagement, identify brand advocates, and flag key conversations to the team.
  • Reporting & analytics: Track performance across all platforms, measure KPIs, and optimise campaigns based on insights.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Head of Marketing to align on strategy and campaign goals.

Skills & Experience:

  • Degree in Marketing or a related field
  • 5+ years’ experience managing social media across multiple platforms
  • Deep understanding of the South African food and dining scene
  • Native English speaker with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven experience in organic social media growth strategies
  • Skilled in content creation: design (Figma, Canva), video editing (CapCut or similar), and ideally video shooting
  • Strong strategic thinking with the ability to plan, execute, and optimise campaigns
  • AI-savvy and able to use AI to streamline campaigns, support content creation, generate ideas, optimise captions and copy, and improve workflow efficiency (not to replace creative content – your creative eye will still drive all visuals)
  • Highly organised, proactive, and able to manage your own time effectively
  • A keen eye for beautiful, on-brand visuals and storytelling
  • Collaborative, team-oriented, curious, and keen to learn and upskill
  • Confident working with influencers, restaurant partners, and campaign briefs
  • Own transport to and from the Dineplan office
