At East City Grill, Ferreira’s flame-led cooking and local Wagyu define a menu rooted in
South African tradition yet shaped by Asian influence and Cape Town’s modern edge.
Across the room, Yakiniku offers an immersive Japanese-style grill experience inspired by
Tokyo’s smoky yakiniku-ya, where guests cook, share, and connect around the flame.

First time at ECG the ambience is amazing and attention from staff was great. Food was very good and portion size great too. The only negative is that when booking I specified it was for a birthday and there was no acknowledgement of it during the evening so I don't know why you fill this in when you book. Waitress did not thank us when paying the bill ( 12% is alreadty added as tip) which I am sure it was because she was annnoyed we did not tip more than 12%. This would have been different if any effort was made towards it being a birthday dinner.

Was very excited to visit this new restaurant and dissapointed to be dissapointed. We ordered a steak that was so tough we couldnt cut it. As the restaurant doesn't include sides we order two sides to accompany our steak bringing the cost to almost R500 for a 300gm sirloin steak meal. The steak was removed from our bill but the sides were not. Overall, the meal was just incredibly rich and provided no value. Staff were great and the place looks slick
