An exclusive all-in dining experience at Spier Wine Farm. South African chefs cook on open fire with local, seasonal produce sourced directly from the farmers, paired with a matching wine or non-alcoholic option. All proceeds, after operational costs, go to three community initiatives working in education, food and agriculture: Isabelo, Feeding Hungry Minds, founded by Margot Janse in Franschhoek in 2009, providing daily nutritious meals to underprivileged schoolchildren. Tree-preneurs, the Spier Foundation's Growing for Good initiative, where people in under-resourced communities grow indigenous trees and plants and exchange them for food vouchers, school fees and other essentials. Abalimi Bezekhaya, running since 1982, training people in Khayelitsha, Nyanga and other townships to grow organic vegetables in home and community gardens.
