Picnics at Indaba Hotel

It was such a beautiful day and the waited who helped us was amazing! The only problem was that for R700, I did expect to get a bit of proper food. We got some cold meats and cheese and 4 slices of toast. For R700, I could get a 3 course meal for 2 somewhere else. So though I enjoyed it, I will be packing my own picnic next time.

Overall, it was a nice experience. Our waiter was absolutely amazing he really went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable and enjoying ourselves. Big thumbs up to him for the great service! That said, there were a couple of things that didn’t quite work for us. We were seated in a walkway where staff were constantly walking past, which took away from the relaxed, intimate vibe we were hoping for. It felt more like we were in the middle of the action rather than tucked away for a peaceful picnic. Also, our waiter’s shift ended while we were still there, and no one came to take over. We had to get up and look for someone to help us, which was a bit frustrating and kind of disrupted the mood. All in all, the idea is great and the service we got at first was excellent.
