Ramenhead Izakaya

The FYN Group's Ramenhead brings a ramen-focused izakaya to Cape Town's trendy Kloof Street with Ramenhead Izakaya. The sophisticated yet energetic space offers diners an authentic taste of Japan's diverse casual culinary culture through ramen made using broths simmered for hours and in-house-cut noodles, wood-fired small plates, and Osaka-style sushi. First opened as a ramen shop on Parliament Street in 2022, Ramenhead is run by chefs Peter Tempelhoff and Ashley Moss, with service and beverage director Jennifer Hugé, and executive chef Julia du Toit in the kitchen. The Kloof Street menu adds an izakaya and sushi menu together with an omakase running four stops – allowing for a 'chef's choice' journey across the menu. Ramenhead Izakaya’s dedicated sake bar sits in the courtyard, where Hugé pours a selection of twenty-four sakes alongside Japanese-inspired and sake-forward cocktails. Reservations: Seating Policy Please note, tables are reserved for seatings of two hours per reservation. The two hours run from the time of the booking and may not be extended by late arrivals. Reservations not honoured within 15 minutes of their booking time will be released. Seating The ramen counter is bookable online by solo diners only. The high tables at the front, the bar seating and the ramen counter-for two or more guests- are walk-in only. Deposit A R200 security deposit per person is held for all reservations and comes off your bill. The deposit is refundable for cancellations up to 24 hours before your seating. Omakase Omakase must be ordered by the whole table. Last orders are 14:00 at lunch and 21:00 at dinner. Hours Lunch — Tuesday to Saturday, seatings 12:00 to 14:30, every half hour. Last order 15:00. Lunch — Sunday, seatings 12:00 to 15:30, every half hour Last order 16:00 Dinner — Tuesday to Saturday, seatings 18:00 to 22 00, every half hour. Last order 22 30 Bar — Tuesday to Saturday, 12:00 to midnight. Sunday, 12:00 to 16:00. A discretionary service charge of 13% will be added to each bill. Our menus and pricing are subject to change.
