Spoon Bakery & Eatery began as a small home-based bakery in Somerset West, founded by Chef Ruben and Chef Mornéz — two chefs with a shared passion for exceptional food, great coffee, and good company. After countless orders, wedding cakes, and market days, our journey led us to open our first independent restaurant. From freshly baked breads and pastries to breakfast, lunch, dinner, and quality coffee. Spoon offers a diverse and thoughtfully curated menu that goes beyond the typical coffee shop experience. Inspired by Eastern and Mediterranean flavours, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Our menu evolves with the seasons as we continuously refine and reimagine our dishes. We are committed to using high-quality, locally sourced ingredients from suppliers in and around the Helderberg. Our meats, free-range eggs, fresh produce and drink selection are carefully selected to support local producers. Our cold-smoked trout is sourced from B’Bos Trout in Baardskeerdersbos (Overberg), while our free-range eggs come exclusively from Groot Geloof Eiers in Caledon.
