    Highly recommend. From the minute we walked in to the minute we left, we had excellent service. Our waitress was amazing. Definitely 5 star experience!!!

    Unfortunately our experience was far from what we had expected of Meerendal. We were relatively early on a Sunday midday for lunch. The big tables were still to arrive. We ordered 2x medium to well done Meerendal steaks, of which one came medium to rare and more to the rare side. The Norwegian Salmon was cold, the peppercorn steak had no peppercorns in sight and was served with chips although mixed veg had been ordered. We did communicate his to our waiter "Given" he said he would take the problems up with the manager, which he never did. We could see the manager the whole time as we sat inside. Given never followed up how the food was and whather everything was ok, we had to call him to communicate the problems. We ordered a Malva pudding to share and asked on arrival for a knive to halve the desert. We are still waiting for the knife. It was the most dissappointing visit to this beautiful venue.

    Pleasantly surprised by all of the above. Definitely recommended. The best restaurant on Meerendal by far.
