With the cries of Atlantic seagulls overhead, the gentle splash of seals below and the rhythmic clink of yacht masts in the breeze, Cape Grace’s Afternoon Tea is a timeless Cape Town experience set on the edge of the V&A Waterfront marina, with Table Mountain rising majestically beyond. Long regarded as an iconic ritual in Cape Town, this elegant afternoon unfolds with delicate savouries, exquisite pastries and freshly baked scones, curated by our renowned pastry team and served in a refined waterfront setting where tradition meets contemporary luxury.

For younger guests, our Kid's Afternoon Tea captures the magic of the ocean. Inspired by mermaids, sea creatures and the shimmering marina, this playful yet thoughtfully crafted experience invites children aged 5–12 into a world of imagination and delight — making Afternoon Tea at Cape Grace a memorable luxury experience for the whole family.

The Cape Grace does afternoon tea as it should be, the traditional way. South Africa in general the last year or two for some unknown reason has started to call afternoon tea, " High Tea ", which it most certainly is not ! They are two completely separate things. The Cape Grace Service, ambience & location is amongst the best in the world. Although the hotel is obviously tourist driven given its location at the V&A Waterfront and expensive for us locals, it is always a pleasure to go there for an occasion. Well done to all.

We enjoyed our time at the Cape Grace as we celebrated a friend's birthday with the "From London, With Love" High Tea. The experience was absolutely delightful including a surprise birthday greeting complete with a candle lit cupcake treat and hand written card. The Savoy Tea experience was very decadent and extra special as we got to meet one of the Savoy staff from London who took time to serve us. What a treat!

I loved the Tennis theme idea, and the creativity around it. The service was professional and friendly, the whole experience very nice. I loved the fact that you could go to the swimming area to carry-on watching the match on sun-bathing chairs if you were done with the high tea. Always nice to come here and enjoy their events.
