With the cries of Atlantic seagulls overhead, the gentle splash of seals below and the rhythmic clink of yacht masts in the breeze, Cape Grace’s Afternoon Tea is a timeless Cape Town experience set on the edge of the V&A Waterfront marina, with Table Mountain rising majestically beyond. Long regarded as an iconic ritual in Cape Town, this elegant afternoon unfolds with delicate savouries, exquisite pastries and freshly baked scones, curated by our renowned pastry team and served in a refined waterfront setting where tradition meets contemporary luxury.

For younger guests, our Kid's Afternoon Tea captures the magic of the ocean. Inspired by mermaids, sea creatures and the shimmering marina, this playful yet thoughtfully crafted experience invites children aged 5–12 into a world of imagination and delight — making Afternoon Tea at Cape Grace a memorable luxury experience for the whole family.

Absolutely quality & luxurious experience I would highly recommend. Our waiter Hermain and every other staff we encountered were absolutely top tier. My only one criticism is that the extra cost for a the MCC (champagne) option only covers one glass, would be much nicer if it was bottomless.

We had a wonderful afternoon tea at the Cape Grace. We booked for 2.30pm and treated it as a late lunch as there are both savoury and sweet treats. It includes a welcome drink plus teas and coffee….definitely a special occasion type of place. Beautiful views overlooking the yachts with seals frolicking in the water.

From the moment I arrived on crutches, the kindness of the porters set the tone. They were friendly, attentive, and made sure I was comfortably escorted from the entry door right to my seating place. The atmosphere was simply lovely—calm, elegant, and welcoming. The service throughout was excellent, with staff who were both professional and genuinely caring. Every detail felt thoughtfully handled, making the experience not just enjoyable but memorable. Overall, Afternoon Tea at Cape Grace was a beautiful blend of hospitality, comfort, and charm. I left feeling uplifted and grateful for the way I was treated.
