Apprentice Restaurant, situated in George, Western Cape, is the natural progression from the François Ferreira Academy. Our restaurant serves its customers delicious meals in an exquisite formal setting, where customers will get a feel of a genuine fine-dining experience. Our aspiring chefs in training at our state-of-the-art Academy, need a soft landing in the industry where they will prepare to go into the world and share a kitchen with another chef. At Apprentice, the chefs in training will be working as part of a professional team, adding their talent to the mix, and at the same time learning from the masters in the kitchen.

    Good food and great service. Only critique, inform people if you are out of stock before they order. My nephew really wanted the fillet, but you were out of stock, all understandable, but it wouldve been better to hear that beforehand. Other than that. Would go again.

    Improve wine selection. Run a shuttle service between George or Fancourt and the restaurant, return, at R50 per head to get people to the restaurant and help with the vibe

    Lamb shank. though cooked well, had hard pieces where it stuck out the gravy while cooking. Ribs were good

    Beef overdone which cause it to be dry. Overall the food was good. Just felt that the portions were a bit on the small side

    I went there yesterday for the pensioners' lunch. We were a group of 13 people. The only negative remark I have is that the steak was not up to standard, as it was dry and maybe cut against the grain. My portion was also cut too thick. I've been going to Apprentice once a month for the past 3 months in a big group of nearly 100 people and not once did we have a complaint about the meat. But I will keep on going back as I really like the ambience and there are other really nice dishes on their menu.

    Waitron was wonderful, starter and desert delicious, but roast beef dry, tough and overcooked. Smokers on patio an irritation and spoils the meal.

    We didn't eat there. They had a big function on and it was very noisy and the service was terrible.
