Apprentice Restaurant, situated in George, Western Cape, is the natural progression from the François Ferreira Academy. Our restaurant serves its customers delicious meals in an exquisite formal setting, where customers will get a feel of a genuine fine-dining experience. Our aspiring chefs in training at our state-of-the-art Academy, need a soft landing in the industry where they will prepare to go into the world and share a kitchen with another chef. At Apprentice, the chefs in training will be working as part of a professional team, adding their talent to the mix, and at the same time learning from the masters in the kitchen.

    Nice venue, loved the intimacy as well as the friendly staff...who was very helpful. Meals were exceptionally exquisite and very delicious. Would recommend it to anyone who has delectable taste buds.

    What a pity this great venue is so badly managed. Booked for pairings only to get there and find several of them are no longer available, then "the kitchen" forgot to order the pizza toppings required for the pairings so that was also out. The manageress/owner even declined to grace us with her presence in the face of our complaint. And whoever supposedly tried to phone us before we arrived - no such call was received. The food - eventually - was good. Well done JD and Inga for trying to save the day.

    We always enjoy dining at Apprentice and our recent visit was no exception when it came to the exceptional service and inviting ambiance. The staff was attentive and made us feel so welcome, and the setting was as charming as ever. However, I did find the chicken dish a bit heavy on whole black pepper, which overpowered the other flavors. Additionally, the chocolate dessert cake was unfortunately quite dry, and I wasn’t able to finish it. I mention this only because we love coming here and want to see the food match the stellar experience we always have. Thank you for consistently making our visits special, and we’re already looking forward to our next one!
