Step inside Arlecchino by tashas, where the spirited charm of the Mediterranean unfolds on Sea Point's Atlantic edge. This is not a literal interpretation of Italy, but a space where two coastlines meet—one steeped in theatre and water, the other in salt air and faded glamour.

Arlecchino captures the particular insouciance of a bygone Sea Point era. It's designed to lift and inspire - whether you're claiming a corner table for morning espresso or lingering as afternoon light dissolves into evening.

The restaurant is beautifully fitted out, and the waiting staff are very friendly. It does get loud in there, but that’s part of the charm! The food, when it eventually arrived, was great. However, we could’ve fit an extra course between starters and mains, that’s how long it took for the mains to arrive. The deconstructed tiramisu comes with a side of theatre (they prepare it for you at the table) and is a lovely way to finish the meal.

Arancini ball completely flavourless, sitting on a bed of over-salted tomato sauce (and I like salt) at a ridiculous price. Lemon cream pasta also far too salty. Veal Scallopini adequate. Service staff very intrusive, trying to take away items and wipe down the table before we had finished. Price point definitely exceeds quality of food and overall experience.
