    We enjoyed some lovely sundowner cocktails, followed by a hearty meal. Thank you for accommodating us inside when it became too cold outside. As always, the Camps Bay Retreat didn't fail to impress.

    Food and waitress were very good. However we have been coming to dine at camps bay retreat for years and this is the first time we've been told not to walk on the grounds. This is the only time a restaurant in cape town has prevented me from walking around their garden.

    What an amazing evening! Camps Bay Retreat has always been a favourite of mine. I have many fond memories of this Capetonian institution, which I have frequented since I was a teenager. On this occasion, I celebrated my 30th birthday at Bella’s. The evening featured the “A Taste of Spice” menu, which demonstrated a remarkable level of culinary refinement. Each dish was thoughtfully composed, delivering depth of flavour throughout the Cape Malay experience. It stands as the most impressive menu I have experienced at this venue to date. The setting carries a strong sense of personal significance, with longstanding associations to Camps Bay Retreat dating back to earlier years. However, this particular evening distinguished itself through both the quality of the cuisine and the attentiveness of the staff, whose professionalism and warmth contributed meaningfully to the overall experience. I would like to specifically thank the hotel manager Venessa for her hospitality and friendliness. It is particularly encouraging to observe what appears to be a revitalisation of the restaurant’s culinary direction. The renewed focus on flavour, presentation, and dining experience reflects a notable elevation in standards. The “A Taste of Spice” menu is highly recommended, and the hotel as a whole remains a highly valued institution within Cape Town’s hospitality industry. Thanks! F Nel
