The chic Double Tree by Hilton Cape Town Upper Eastside Hotel - Bistro31 offers an extensive a la carte menu and all-day dining in a discreetly glamorous atmosphere. Having spent 15 years honing his culinary talents across Europe and South Africa, executive chef Simon Kemp has made Bistro31's kitchen his creative home. Experimenting with a fusion-style menu, Simon is also a master at the traditional: his handmade burgers are legendary.

Should you have specific dietary requirements, please do let us know – with advance warning, Simon can ensure that there is something that meets these requirements. Simon is also available to discuss your catering requirements for business conferencing or special events held at DoubleTree by Hilton Cape Town Eastside, and will also prepare a tailormade menu for guests wanting to entertain small groups in the loft suites.

    This was my first time to visit the establishment and what a surprise it was. It's location is not in keeping with where you would expect a hotel. The food was delicious and well prepared. The range was limited which was the only downside especially the dessert options and sides. The meat options was prepared with care and tasted fantastic but you missed out on a dish option. Our waitress was lovely, friendly and bubbly and due to the disappointment with dessert option improvised and offered us the most amazing choc chip biscuit as an apology. All the staff were very hospitable and polite.

    Hello Samantha! Thank you so much for taking the time to send us such a wonderful and detailed review. We acknowledge your feedback and informed the Chef. When we first started these roasts, we did a guest survey and what came out tops was to keep the menu small and most importantly affordable. We have since kept the options to three meats, two sides, two salads, yorkshire puddings, sauces and two desserts options. Due to food costs (as you can imagine) and to keep the price low, this has been a winning recipe thus far. We acknowledge your disappointment but appreciate your good scoring and do hope to welcome you back very soon!

    We had the pleasure of celebrating my husband's birthday at the restaurant and it was truly a memorable experience! The service was exceptional - the staff went above and beyond to make the evening special, attentive and warm from start to finish. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. They even made the birthday boy feel extra celebrated! Would absolutely come back again and highly recommend!!

    The buffet station was cluttered, a second station could be helpful. The parking situation was not explained, security said we had to pay, however our waitress stamped our parking tickets so we were very confused

The Chef has already put plans in place should the guest numbers double than usual. We are alarmed to hear about the parking, all security are aware parking is free. We will address it immediately.     The Yorkshire puddings and the malva pudding and custard were amazing! The beef was on the dry side, but that is probably attributed to the warmers. All in all a lovely lunch.
