The chic Double Tree by Hilton Cape Town Upper Eastside Hotel - Bistro31 offers an extensive a la carte menu and all-day dining in a discreetly glamorous atmosphere. Having spent 15 years honing his culinary talents across Europe and South Africa, executive chef Simon Kemp has made Bistro31's kitchen his creative home. Experimenting with a fusion-style menu, Simon is also a master at the traditional: his handmade burgers are legendary.

Should you have specific dietary requirements, please do let us know – with advance warning, Simon can ensure that there is something that meets these requirements. Simon is also available to discuss your catering requirements for business conferencing or special events held at DoubleTree by Hilton Cape Town Eastside, and will also prepare a tailormade menu for guests wanting to entertain small groups in the loft suites.

    Bistro 31 was a pleasant surprise! Elna was our waitress/Hostess… she was friendly, warm and welcoming. The buffet was lovely, a small selection but wonderful, the only thing I’d give criticism on was the dessert. I think that needs to be looked at but other than that it was great overall. We’ll definitely be back.

Whether you’re visiting for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, the restaurant offers a diverse menu that ranges from bistro fare and light meals to hearty steaks, burgers, tapas, and health-conscious options. With Halaal-friendly dishes, as well as vegan and vegetarian choices, there is truly something for everyone. On our first evening, we enjoyed the burgers cooked medium, and they were absolutely perfect—juicy, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The following night, we tried the loin chops, which were equally impressive, perfectly cooked, and elegantly plated. The atmosphere throughout was warm and inviting, blending modern style with a relaxed, comfortable setting. A special mention must go to our waitress, Monique, whose outstanding service elevated the experience.
