Presenting restaurant classics in the most thoughtful way, Blanko offers an intimate dining experience in the heritage building of The Alphen – a national monument and lauded example of Cape Dutch architecture.     Blanko does not disappoint. The food and service are wonderful and the atmosphere and decor are divine. What a perfect place to go on a winters day where everything is cozy and inviting!

    Had a visitor from Vancouver, Canada who throughly enjoyed the lunch, the beautiful outdoor setting as well as the sunshine on Sunday afternoon.

    A really outstanding experience of looking after their customer - I made a big error in calculating the splitting the bill after including for the gratuity - which the waiter, Kalebo, queried at the time & I failed to understand that he was querying the considerable overpayment until the next morning. Then on taking it up with the restaurant, the matter was easily resolved by Kalebo volunteering to pay back the overpayment & I was relieved of the embarrassment by recompensing the other party.

    We loved the Old Fashioned cocktail despite the R175 price tag. We opted for the winter set menu special; starters blew us away as the carpaccio was amazing as was the gnocchi but the main course of fish and chicken were both dry, a little bland and lacking in sauce and flavour. Service and atmosphere were top notch. Sadly would not recommend due to the disappointing main courses
