Nestled on the historic Constantia Uitsig Wine Estate, Blockhouse Kitchen is focused on sharing our passion for accessible and seasonal food. It’s about staying true to our belief in simple and classic cooking. Where possible, we aim to use only the freshest produce from sustainable and local South African growers and farmers.

We offer an all-day dining experience, with a strong focus on wholesome and healthy food. We have extensive options for kids - breakfast, lunch and dinner. Our kitchen is conscious, using the philosophy of nose to tail, root to leaf. Not only does this have a positive effect on the environment but also allows us to be generous with you in portions and pricing.     Food tasted amazing. Wish it was abit more affordable to the average person. Especially the drinks were insanely small for the price. Outstanding service otherwise. I sat outside and found little cotton bugs, a few flies but none could get a hold of my food. The food definitely bringing me back maybe I’ll bring my own drinks.

    The food is usually really really good and we enjoy it but this time was our first not so great food experience. Ribs were overcooked and hard, fish was like mush and not tasty. We will go again. Maybe just an off day for the chef sadly.

    The food was utterly disappointing. I had the hake and it was watery and the chips were old. My partner had the pasta, which was undercooked and bland. We’ve been regular patrons over the years, but doubt we will be back unless the food quality improves. The service was good though. Such a pity.

    I had to go to reception to ask for a server. This after waiting about 10 minutes, really needs to be jacked up. Thereafter the food and experience was good.
