    Used to always come to bowld but yesterday was my last last time! Service so bad! Never again. Our waiter really made our time there not nice. Is it because we were not with blessers. The attitude. I used to always come to this place and I would get good service. But this time around was my last. Food undercooked. Waiter Yho the worst. He had so much attitude. Just wanted a nice Girls night out but I don’t know maybe it was because we were not with blessers. Only gave me food and left and that was the last time I saw him. Oh when I asked him to move us he was like “ can’t you see there are people sitting there”, mind you the people had gotten to the bathroom I think. He could’ve been polite and told us that the people are still here they just went to the bathroom. His name is Justin. The other waiter that was serving the other table kept n coming back to his table but our was nowhere to be seen. We ended up getting his help, oh God bless him. As a restaurant manager, that is very unprofessional. Not coming back again, thanks though!

    We really wanted to love Bowl’d as our new neighborhood spot, but the reality didn’t live up to the social media hype. It’s a classic case of a "trap" where the aesthetic takes priority over quality and ethics. The "Dress Code" Paradox The restaurant markets a strict smart-casual code (no shorts/flip-flops). Yet, we were surrounded by people in t-shirts, shorts, and beachwear. If you're going to enforce a vibe, consistency is key. Underwhelming Food & Drinks For the price, the quality was poor. ​Food: Chicken skewers were tiny and rubbery. The "Seafood Platter for One" featured a minuscule piece of linefish and prawns that were clearly not fresh—rubbery and sticking to the shell. ​Drinks: We visited for the 2pm–7pm cocktail special. Despite the variety (Margaritas, Whiskey Sours, etc.), the drinks were unbalanced and poorly executed. ​Shisha: Entirely average. The Billing Issues (Major Red Flag) This was the biggest disappointment. Our waiter, Sivu, attempted to overcharge us significantly. We ordered the Espolon Sunrise (R80 special), but were billed R150 each. When questioned, he claimed we were served a "Don Julio" version not even on the menu, eventually pivoting to a vague "internal system" excuse. We also caught an error in the included service charge. While they rectified the bill after we scrutinized it, the attempt to be unethical left a very sour taste. Ambiance & Layout The layout is impractical and borderline dangerous. A massive 1.2m pool dominates the center, leaving a very narrow, cramped space for dining where one misstep could land you in the water. The Verdict The manager’s apology was a nice touch, but it doesn't make up for subpar food and predatory billing practices. As locals, we won't be returning or recommending this to friends. Bottom line: If you go, check your bill twice.

We acknowledge the frustration this caused and will be addressing this with our team to ensure better alignment moving forward. Food & Drinks Quality We regret that the food and cocktails did not meet the standard you expected. Your feedback regarding the chicken skewers, seafood platter, and cocktail execution has been shared with our kitchen and bar teams for immediate review and improvement. Billing Concerns This is especially concerning to us. What you experienced is not acceptable and does not reflect our values as a business. We sincerely apologise for the confusion and frustration caused. This matter is being investigated internally, and appropriate action will be taken to ensure transparency and accountability at all times. Ambiance & Layout We appreciate your honest feedback regarding the space. While the design is intended to create a unique atmosphere, we understand that comfort and safety should never be compromised, and we will take this into consideration. We’re glad the manager was able to step in and assist, but we fully understand that this does not undo your overall experience.     The best service ever, the waiter that was serving us was so patient coz we were a large group and sometimes undecided, but he listened and suggested…..everything was just perfect. Thank you so much @bowl’d for the great experience
