Rating: 2/5 Unfortunately, my experience at Vivari Hotel & Dine was very disappointing, especially as this was meant to be a special date night for us after a very long time. I made a reservation through Dineplan on Wednesday 26th for two people downstairs. On Thursday, I called and asked a gentleman to move the reservation upstairs. He took my name and confirmed that it was done. On Saturday, about an hour before arriving, I called to advise that we would be 30 minutes late. The lady I spoke to could not find either reservation, which I found very strange. She eventually said she could assist. When we arrived, I was surprised to see many tables available, yet we were given a dirty table with missing cutlery. The service was extremely poor. Our waiter could not even provide basic items such as cutlery or cold milk for coffee. We eventually had to take cutlery from another table ourselves. After our meal, we went downstairs to the bar to enjoy the live band. We ordered the pecan doughnut, which looked good, but unfortunately had little to no pecan and the doughnut itself was stale. For the prices being charged, I expected a much higher standard of food, service and overall experience. Sadly, the quality did not match the price at all, and I left feeling that I had been robbed of value for my money. What made this worse was that I did not complain at the time because I didn’t want to spoil the evening or make my partner uncomfortable. This was a date night we had been looking forward to. I am sharing this feedback in the hope that management takes it seriously. The service, food quality and attention to detail need significant improvement. Unfortunately, based on my experience, I would not recommend Vivari Hotel & Dine.

No strict guidelines for smoking. A guest smoked a cigar at a table right next open entrance towards restaurant and we had to complain a few times and spoiled the afternoon and provoked my allergic asthma. The staff did try and stop him but he ignored them. There should be clear signs placed where guests can smoke and where not. According to the law it should be a minimum of 10 meters from a door, window or entrance. This is not negotiable.

Brambles Restaurant at Vivari Hotel responded on Tue 25 Aug 26:
Thank you for the review and for taking my call. Feedback has been noted and we will put more effort in controlling such incidents. We will be looking forward to hosting you in the near future and have a lovely day further.

The calamari was grainy, and the food overall sucked. I’ve been there four times out of geographical convenience and harbour a kernel of hope that the food might be different but true on brand, food sucked.

Brambles Restaurant at Vivari Hotel responded on Tue 25 Aug 26:
