    Café Gannet – Visited on 14 October My wife and I chose Café Gannet to celebrate our wedding anniversary, drawn by its reputation and the promise of a memorable dining experience. While the food was decent, it did not live up to the high expectations set by the restaurant’s acclaim. Unfortunately, several aspects of the evening detracted from the overall experience. The cutlery and wine glasses, though not dirty, had visible fingerprints and watermarks, which suggested a lack of attention to detail. More concerning was the movement of garbage bags through the dining area during service—an unpleasant sight that disrupted the ambiance. Our waiter, who may have been nervous, accidentally spilled wine on the floor and onto my wife's jersey, which was placed on the adjacent chair. Additionally, when ordering dessert, my wife requested the peppermint crisp gelato but was served chocolate instead. Given the hype surrounding Café Gannet, I expected a more polished and professional experience. I hope this feedback is taken constructively to improve service standards moving forward.
