    The buffet was really good. The upgrade of the restaurant is much better and it gives a better impression. The waiters were very friendly and prompt with their service. Good news for pensioners is that they have a daily special!

    Our experience at Cattle Baron Mossel Bay was a total disaster! We arrived with a reservation, stood around for 10 mins before we, out of desperation, hi-jacked a waiter and asked where we could sit. we then had to hi-jack another waiter to get drinks. A third waiter arrived to get our order after we tried various times to attract some ones attention. Well after 35 mins we had our order placed. After close to an hour - no food, I threatened to leave and our food suddenly appeared but with different veggies that we ordered. On enquiry I was told - Sorry it is finished????. I objected and the chef arrived with a side plate full of the last remnants of sweet potato he scraped out of a pot??? At least the steak was nice but that is it. Cattle Baron is one off the more "expensive" restaurants in our area but my experience was one of the worst?

    Everything was perfect, the food was tasty and nice, presentation of the food was well presented. The value was within range and you have a good and large selection of wine to choose from. But the breakdown came when had to wait some time for the waiter to appear to take our order, thereafter the service went smoothly with your waiters being very friendly and helpful in selecting our food. Further, I feel, the lighting was too bright and could maybe have lanterns on the tables. It will help with the ambience.

    We enjoy an unadulterated grilled fillet, without any additions / basting sauce. This is what we asked on the evening of Saturday 10/05/2025. We specifically mentioning this to the attendant: no basting sauce. Unfortunately we received 2 pieces of fillet that had the smell and a sweet aftertaste of the usual basting sauce that was washed away. We spoke to the chef who made us 2 new pieces of delicious fillet. If a customer has a specific request, staff need to understand that we know why we are asking certain dishes. As a difference to other cuts, fillet without any additives should be available as a default option at a stake house. Nicolas

    Chicken livers - not properly cleaned - slimey and undercooked Pepper Fillet - over cooked - dry - sauce burned Compared to my previous experience at CB that was top notch, this was a total let down - unsatisfactory. Was there a change in kitchen staff?
