Cattle Baron Grill and Bistro Stellenbosch is a family-run restaurant re-opened under new ownership in August 2023 by Michael & Susan Van Rooyen. Situated on the R44 opposite the Mooiberge Strawberry Farm, the restaurant offers breathtaking views of the vineyards and sunsets. Relax and enjoy the view with a selection of hand-selected, local wines from the Cape Winelands. In addition to its warm ambiance, the separate patio area is ideal for the most memorable summer parties and events. The garden area offers a jungle gym for kids, while parents can relax at the picnic benches under umbrellas.

    We recently visited the Cattle Baron Steakhouse for their Wednesday Night Rib Special and were thoroughly impressed. We opted for the 1.2kg rib option to share, and it was more than enough for two people. The quality of the ribs was excellent — tender, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. It was also great value for money, especially considering the generous portion size. (Side note - no corkage for 1st bottle of wine) The service was top-notch throughout our visit. Staff were attentive, friendly, and made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. We also really enjoyed the overall atmosphere of the restaurant — it has a warm, lively vibe that makes it a great spot for a relaxed night out. The Special is highly recommended if you're in the mood for a hearty meal!
