Chard Grill & Wine Bar is a bespoke establishment in the Village Square on the famous Hermanus waterfront.

While meat eaters have come to accept the view that a good steak has to be one of the traditionally tender and juicy cuts, at Chard the emphasis is on unusual and innovative cuts of beef as well as the old time classics.

Supplied by artisan butchers who are following the modern global trend to utilise as much of the carcass as possible, these new wave, alternative cuts are no longer flying under the radar and are presenting diners with a whole new culinary experience.

    Food was excellent. Price is high but that’s fine with good food, they pack people like sardines I don’t need to feel as if I am with the couple next to me on a double date. The back door was open and we didn’t know it was the back door as there was no signs they accomodate Middle Eastern patrons who use face coverings which is awesome but these ladies were eating without their coverings and we got dirty looks then the lady who was suppose to seat us just couldn’t find our name the whole situation was a bit uncalled for if they only made a note on the back entrance saying entrance on other side. Waiter was excellent
