Why is Mr Chau called Chunky Chau? Because Mr Chau is not 'fat'.

‘Chunky’, on the other hand, can be used to refer to someone who is short and muscular. Being short and broad shouldered, he looks heavy. Unlike ‘fat’, ‘chunky’ does not have a negative connotation. In fact, according to some books on usage, native speakers sometimes use the word to indicate affection.

    My friend and I ordered the Chau's Nostalgic Barbie Bubblegum cocktail and the 3x3 sushi and it was delicious. The cocktail was rimmed with honey and sprinkles, but my friend is allergic to honey, so I informed the staff and the were extremely understanding and accommodating and remade hers. The sushi was divine as per usual, and my favourites were the tempura prawn california rolls and the salmon roses. Our server was very kind, helpful and accommodating and I am glad that I was able to take my friend to her first dining experience at Chunky Chau.

    good was excellent, the service was a little slow but that is probably on account of the multiple dishes. everything was ver fresh and flavourful, i thoroughly enjoyed all the dishes. it’s a shame that we couldn’t take the food that we didn’t finish from our last round, if i’d change anything it would be that. Overall stunning experience, would definitely visit again

    Absolutely superb service. We were a group of 8 there for the bottomless Bau and Sushi. We were catered to very well. As most of our group was Halaal we were shown their supplier halaal certification upon request for peace of mind. There were constant check ins and setting was serene and open, definitely an experience worth trying!

    The place was boring. Dead. 10pm we were getting kicked out. Food is delicious. Waitress was great Rosebank branch is definitely better. Don't got there if you want to have a late dinner and long conversation

    This place is just kn another level. People need to go try it. Sam the manager and his staff service is on another level. The food is always on point and we have never been let down
