Our table was forgotten for at least 15 minutes after seating us. Tables were being served around us but staff kept walking past us. Pizzas were small and expensive. I understand charging a cakeage fee, but R250? It looks cool, had a vibe, but we did not experience value for money or feel like we wanted to repeat the experience.

I celebrated my birthday dinner at Club Kloof with a group of seven friends, and overall we had such a lovely evening. From the start, the booking process was easy, and the restaurant itself is absolutely beautiful. The atmosphere is stylish and intimate, the aesthetic is stunning, and the service was wonderful. Our waitress, Tania, was so friendly and attentive, and the manager also made us feel very welcome. The food and drinks were beautifully presented, and everything smelled incredible. Most of our group absolutely loved their meals, especially the pizzettes, steak and chicken dishes, and everyone enjoyed their drinks. My friend and I both ordered the vodka pasta, which unfortunately wasn't quite to our taste as we felt it could have used a little more seasoning, but that was a small part of an otherwise great meal. The only constructive feedback I'd offer is around the menu. As first-time visitors, our entire table found it quite difficult to understand the portion sizes and some of the Italian menu descriptions. We weren't sure whether the pizzettes were intended as a full meal or a smaller sharing plate, and because the restaurant is on the pricier side, it would be really helpful to know exactly what you're ordering. Even something as simple as photos or clearer portion descriptions on the menu would make choosing much easier. The other thing that was a little confusing was the table booking payment. I paid R1,200 to reserve the table, which was then deducted from the final bill. Because everyone at our table was paying separately and we also needed to calculate the service charge, splitting everything became surprisingly complicated. It might be easier if the booking fee worked as a refundable deposit rather than being deducted from the bill, especially for larger groups. Overall, we had a wonderful evening in a beautiful setting with excellent service, and I'm so glad I chose Club Kloof for my birthday celebration.
