Enjoy our contemporary Cape Town cuisine, designed to complement our range of De Grendel wines (available at cellar door prices from De Grendel Restaurant).

Our menu is based on classic, locally sourced ingredients, served in creative flavour combinations and served with a an inventive, modern edge.

The simple menu changes every day according to availability of ingredients.

Farm produce, from honey and yoghurt to guinea fowl and pasture-raised beef and lamb; organic vegetables, such as kohlrabi and Jerusalem artichokes.

Youll also find some new dishes never before seen on a local menu like Brandy & Coke ice-cream, liquid popcorn and more.

We like to surprise our guests, thats why youll find that our menu lists only the ingredients with no indication of how your meal will be prepared or which ingredients dominate (of course, if you ask, well gladly tell you more).

    Always a great experience. we have been there twice in the past few months and it would be good if the menu was varied a bit. Also the vegan options were very limited. Otherwise no complaints.

    We had an awesome function in the conservatory yesterday. The food was very special, and the wine was great and the service seamless. Our guests enjoyed the long, long lunch and clearly felt pampered and special. Thanks to Renata and the whole De Grendel team

    We enjoyed a pleasant evening at the restaurant, opting for the five-course tasting menu (which we’d previewed in advance). However, the dishes arrived without any explanation from staff, leaving us guessing about ingredients and preparations—surprising for a venue of this caliber and a tasting menu. The space becomes overwhelmingly loud at full capacity, making conversation difficult, especially for those with hearing aids. While the food was good overall, it fell short of the exceptional standards De Grendel is renowned for.

    As always, the team provided us with excellent service, cheerfulness, and smiles. The view with the beautiful sunset makes us happy every time we are there. Highly recommended. luky
