In 1968 the property was acquired by Historical Homes to be restored - later leased as a restaurant. During 2016 the Rupert family initiated a full restoration, today De Volkskombuis operates once again as a restaurant serving patrons within Stellenbosch.

    De Volkskombuis gefällt uns immer wieder und das Essen und Ambiente sind sehr toll. Wir haben uns gefreut, dass es dieses Restaurant nach Corona noch immer gibt und es war nach wie vor ganz toll dort.

    Wonderful experience. Just one small suggestion. The delicious bread rolls should be baked a little longer. They were a bit under baked.
