Gaaitjie is a beach side restaurant in the beautiful village of Paternoster. Explore the Paternoster beach and nestled amongst the rocks, you will find a simple white-washed fisherman’s cottage. Gaaitjie creates a warm welcome with feelings of comfort and tradition. This unique atmosphere has inspired an eclectic menu featuring local produce, fused with contemporary influences. Our food is unpretentious and made with love, using sustainable fresh ingredients as far as possible. The décor is simple yet comfortable and our unique location and views remain unbeatable. We boast an excellent wine list, sourced from the West Coast and immediate surrounds. We look forward to meeting Gaaitjie’s current and future friends, the final and most important ingredient to the perfect meal.

    Lovely view and exceptional food. We shared a few starters, the pork spring rolls and calamari are fantastic, the beef tacos are alright. The cheesecake and chocolate fondant are both the perfect way to cap off a wonderful meal.

    A truly memorable dining experience. The food was outstanding - monkfish dish cooked to perfection and full of flavour. The beachfront setting created a beautiful atmosphere, making the meal even more special. Service was very good. The wine list offered an excellent selection to complement the menu. From start to finish, everything came together for a fantastic experience that we would gladly recommend.

    Gaaitjies food is wonderful. The calamari starter is next level. The view and location is amazing. Paternoster is beautiful.
