The food was good. The service was good, but you should sit in comfortable chairs to eat, not sink into a couch. I'm 190 cm tall and could barely see the tabletop.

Erinvale Estate Hotel & Spa delivers an outstanding dining experience. The ambiance and interior design are unmatched in Somerset West - elegant, stylish, and absolutely top of the top. The price–performance ratio is exceptional. The food was excellent, the service utterly charming, and sitting outside in the garden feels relaxed and effortless. Indoors, the restaurant is very pleasant and discreet, creating a wonderfully comfortable atmosphere. Overall, highly recommended. A small deduction for the bathrooms: they are mixed male–female. At this level of international luxury, separate facilities should be mandatory.

Location and service are exemplary. The food was average, in fact the Oak Terrace menu was average and felt more like a downtown bar menu than being in a winelands venue. Very unimaginative and bland. On the plus side, there are a lot of vegetarian, and some vegan, options. The wine list is difficult to navigate and it takes a while to figure out if there are glasses available. Some wines have a carafe, few have a glass option. Wines on offer are good and plentiful but there is an assumption that a bottle will be purchased. Probably worth the drive for the location and the service, but not for the food.
