    Waitresses didn't mention drinks specials to my friends who arrived early. Seemed aloof. Maybe a bad hair day.

    We booked a table for 6 online, easy and efficient process. 5 of us arrived, table was in the separate roomed section, away from the quiz night section, thus nice and quiet and relaxed. No SAB beers available, on tap was Jack Black Lager and Shackleton (i think it was a weisbeer as it was hazy, spicy and quite phenolic) both beers were terrible. I keep on tasting metal on the glass even though the beer was not oxidized. We suspect beer line contamination and a metal fitting in the water supply they wash the glasses with. One person in the group is a Certified International Beer Judge (just by the way). My burger was quite over charred on the outside and still medium -rare on the inside (even though i asked for well done). The other burger was the same albeit it was ordered medium. The Beef burrito, rib-eye steak was both up to standard, with a marrow bone included in the Rib-eye, which was a nice tough. We ordered pan fried fish, it came deep fried with batter. So, 4 of us had food and one not… do we wait for the replacement pan fried fish and eat cold food or be in-considered and eat away? The Strawberry daquery was fantastic, so was the Lomond Richmond Bay Shiraz. Drinks did take exceptionally long to arrive for a quiet evening with few guests! The hamburgers was no better than any other burger joints, great variety of dishes, ambiance was nice. They must sort out their beer selection and beer taps.

    As always we had a great time at Fancy Franks. I was disappointed to see that the restrooms are in a bit of a state though. It looks like they need a bit of work.
