Nestled at the foot of our majestic mountains, in the leafy suburb of Newlands, Cape Town, Foresters Arms Restaurant and Pub (fondly referred to by the locals as Forries), is one of the oldest pubs in South Africa and provides the perfect retreat from the hustle and bustle of city life.

    Forester Arms, Newlands – A Proper Way to End the Business Week I recently took a key account partner to Forester Arms in Newlands for lunch and a few drinks, and it was the perfect choice to wind down after a long business week. The service was excellent – attentive without being intrusive, and genuinely friendly. The variety of beers on offer is impressive, catering to every preference, which made it easy to settle in and relax. The food was equally solid: well-prepared, generous portions, and exactly what you want from a classic pub with character. What really sets Forester Arms apart is the atmosphere. It strikes the perfect balance between lively and laid-back, making it ideal for both business catch-ups and casual downtime with partners or friends. Highly recommended for anyone looking for great food, a wide beer selection, and an even better atmosphere in Newlands. I’ll definitely be back.

    Besides not catering for guests who can only drink low sulphite white wine, Forries remains a favourite spot when it comes to delicious pizzas, salads and of course their legendary Sunday carvery.
