Nestled at the foot of our majestic mountains, in the leafy suburb of Newlands, Cape Town, Foresters Arms Restaurant and Pub (fondly referred to by the locals as Forries), is one of the oldest pubs in South Africa and provides the perfect retreat from the hustle and bustle of city life.

    The poke bowl was good. Unfortunately, not many vegan options. The Veg burger has egg in it, so I was limited with choices. The rest of the party with us enjoyed their food albeit those who had grilled fish stated that it was not substantial and they still felt hungry. Everyone raved about the chips. Good service from our waitress and the setting is very nice! There are more and more vegans around and you should consider extending your offerings for us.

    We were really delighted with the food and exceptional service. Special mention for Josh who assisted us in our choices. But also Lorenzo who made sure that the food and service were up to our expectations. Je recommande sans hésitation

    Having frequented forries for many years what a disappointment! Forries salad is our go to...now the size of a side salad! Also always asked for addition of a poached egg....apparently those get packed away before lunch! Sorry but not sure our table will be back. Service pretty slow as well and wasn't very busy
