Nestled at the foot of our majestic mountains, in the leafy suburb of Newlands, Cape Town, Foresters Arms Restaurant and Pub (fondly referred to by the locals as Forries), is one of the oldest pubs in South Africa and provides the perfect retreat from the hustle and bustle of city life.

Its welcoming ambiance provides guests with the opportunity to sit down, relax and enjoy a fine draught beer accompanied by a delicious meal selected from our varied gastro-pub menu.

    Always a good bet. Judith gave us the best service. Sadly the Sunday roast was all cold being the end of service

    Disgusted. After 11 years, this brings an end to what had become a tradition for our group. The reservations team completely messed up our booking. They captured the incorrect date and then still had the audacity to argue that I had booked for the following week, despite the confirmation email clearly showing otherwise. We book and pay for our reservation specifically to secure a large table for the whole group, not to have everyone split across three different tables. To make matters worse, there was not even a simple apology. Instead, they quietly changed the reservation to the correct date about 15 minutes after we arrived, which felt incredibly underhanded. After more than a decade of supporting this establishment, the complete lack of accountability and customer service is shocking. Needless to say, I will no longer support Foresters Arms. Goodbye Forries. That’s the last you will see of me and my group.
