Nestled at the foot of our majestic mountains, in the leafy suburb of Newlands, Cape Town, Foresters Arms Restaurant and Pub (fondly referred to by the locals as Forries), is one of the oldest pubs in South Africa and provides the perfect retreat from the hustle and bustle of city life.

    Terrible audio for the rugby, both in quality (update in system badly required, in front of pub), and a lag between images on screen and audio (down to streaming images on certain screens, as opposed to analog audio throughout); as to food, a smaller, seasonal, pub food menu would be better than a 'Jack of all trades' menu ('tapas', pizza, grills etc) - a blackboard menu could supplement matchday specials, but just a thought, to help perfect pub classics

    We had a dreadful experience and I am shocked by how pathetic your staff is. But the waiter, Lumpa, was very good. I had booked on line and received confirmation. I had paid R160 fee to watch the rugby there, which I also received confirmation for paying. But I had had a bad experience before with your on line system, so called later to confirm. I was told my booking was confirmed but the table number could not be confirmed yet. I had requested an indoor table. When I arrived at 17:45 things went horribly wrong. We were told the network was down and my name was not on your list. We stood around waiting for ages before being given a tiny table outside. Lumpa came to the rescue and found us a better table but far from a TV. I expect a refund for my R160 and an official apology. I really was disappointed as I have been coming here for over 10 years and really could reconsider this in the future

    Seating wasn't ideal to watchevrhe rugby. Our table of ten had to watch various screens which could have been much bigger and better placed.

    We had a lovely time at Forries, the staff were all very friendly and polite and the food was fantastic.
