    Main meal Porcetta too salty. Dessert Ceme Brulee very bad.Tasted like custard.I visited Italy many times.Taste of food not typical Italian

    Good day. Porchetta has a salted outer crust. That is what is used to create the crispy crackling and flavour the centre and the herb stuffing. It is the traditional dish of Rome and is prepared this way. Creme Brulee is, as it name translated "burned custard". It is supposed to taste of custard because that is what it is, so I dont understand the comment. The custard is freshly prepared from cream, eggs and sugar and is the extremely traditional recipe. Maybe you are too used to tasting the brulees created from powder pre-mixes at other restaurants. Our restaurant is owned, run and the food prepared by Italians. Unlike 99% of the so called Italian restaurants in SA. I can assure you that the care taken in ingredient selection and the simplicity of the cuisine is precisely Italian. This is the first and only negative review I have had for new years eve, a night we stay open while the whole rest of the centre is closed for the benefit of our clients. Oh well...I guess you can never please everybody. I would suggest we are not the restaurant for you. I live in Italy for part of the year and was brought up in Italy, so it is disingenous to suggest our food is not Italian.

    Please do something about the flies. The citronella candles are useless as the flies just ignore them

    Hi Erica. following the extensive rains we have sprayed fly repellant outside and purchased citronella candles for the tables, but it seems they are an absolute plague this year. We just dont know what else to do, but i sincerely apologise for your discomfort. Is there anything you can suggest for us and I will do it.
