Ganesh is brought to you from the team behind Bodega Ramen. As Obs locals themselves, they have taken over the institution that is Cafe Ganesh in Observatory now Ganesh. It remains a space synonymous with crayfish samoosas, late-night conversations, live music, sharing of quarts and a meeting space for friends, locals, artists, students and activists. The building has been given a facelift and the restaurant at the back has been turned into a small Thai Street Food restaurant. Embracing Thai Kitsch and the street food flavours and experience the three owners (Ryan, Bryn and Jade) had while travelling Thailand together.

Cafe Ganesh is an Obs institution I'm so glad it is back in action. The Thair food was excellent, and great value for money. Corkage way too expensive. Ambience as great as ever. Good luck to the new owners.

Incredibly detailed and everything is packed with so many flavours! My senses and tastebuds haven’t experienced anything similar in Cape Town. Really incredible food design, generous servings and the vibe is fabulous. I’ll definitely be back!

Fabulous food, great atmosphere, wonderful service - an absolute Cape Town gem. Noisy, hot, a little bit chaotic - all in the best possible way. Super staff. Our new favourite haunt.
