Gerakaris Family Wines was founded in 2009 by Kath Gerakaris. Our boutique winery in the heart of Craighall Park, Jozi, produces wines from grapes sourced from a single farm in the Swartland, Western Cape. Five wines are made by winemaker Kath Gerakaris. Two Chenin blancs and three Syrahs.

Wine tastings are R100 person. We also serve a cheese board designed to match our wines, show casing four South African cheese producers, and bowls of Cape Olives. We have a small garden and we like it this way because we can chat to everyone about what we do… however it does mean weekends get busy and you need to make a booking ahead of time.

Our wine tastings take from half an hour to an hour and a half depending on the size of your group. We therefore reserve your table for a maximum of 2 hours.

Service was horrible and they didn’t speak to us properly. And she gave us the bare minimum with the wine. The white lady was perfect

Well it was not what I expected in terms on service.they did not go through the whole experience with us from start to the end which was really disappointing for me and my sisters .no one came to table to ask about our experience they just pour the wine and leave not to explain what cheeses would go along ,we had to call the lady because she was just leaving the table

Our waiter took time to refill our glasses and felt a bit neglected at some point. When we wanted to order more sides, she was nowhere to be found. We would loved to order more wine the tasting but the waiter was a bit slow and missed out on that. Overall experience it was beautiful and can’t take that away. Nice beautiful outdoor experience

Everything was amazing. The only reason for the 4/5 on Value is that as much as I would love to drink your Chenin every weekend, there are many competitive "every day" drinking wines for under R100. For special occasions or a gift with a difference, it is a winner.
