Gigi Rooftop is a buzzing restaurant and bar located on the 6th floor of the Gorgeous George Hotel. The bar has everything from signature cocktails, to age-old classics, both being meticulously crafted by their in-house mixologists. The restaurant serves a take on modern classics, but with a focus on seasonality and sustainability, think casual cuisine but with a twist! They believe knowing where our food comes from is as important as the food itself, with attention being placed on local, ethically-sourced produce from artisanal cheese, pasture-reared beef to fully-traceable and line-caught fish. The vibe is infectious, join for lunch, stay for dinner, with live music and DJ’s almost every day of the week. GiGi Rooftop is a living room for the neighbourhood and you’re invited.

    *An extremely disappointing experience* We hosted a 40th birthday celebration for 20 guests at Gigi Rooftop Restaurant at Gorgeous George after more than a month of planning with the events team. We selected the set menu, submitted our detailed food order 24 hours in advance and paid in full, including 15% gratuity, a week before the event. Most concerning: we clearly highlighted *IN RED* that one guest has a nut allergy. Despite this, she was served a dish garnished with nuts. The printed order was in the manager’s hands, with the dietary requirement clearly visible. There was also no apparent setup or preparation for our arrival. We felt like an inconvenient walk-in rather than a pre-booked party of 20. As someone with professional hospitality experience, I recognise this as a management and process failure, not simply a service mistake, as I know they would want to blame the service staff. The management response was nonchalant and disappointing. Despite me asking for the manager, he only approached me at the end of my main meal, by which time I declined the conversation. The damage was done. Waiving the cakeage fee and offering bubbly did not address the issue. *This was never about compensation. It was about service, preparation, accountability and principle.* Unemployment is high and Cape Town has no shortage of restaurants. Gigi’s do better!! This special Birthday was almost ruined by lackluster management who has no Joie de vivre for the service industry.

    The venue, food and overall experience is worthy of every Instagram pic that the party had taken and uploaded! Highly recommend this venue for any office and private celebration!

    Gigi Rooftop’s was absolutely amazing. The staff were warm, attentive, and professional from the moment we arrived. Everything was well organized, and they made the whole experience feel special. The atmosphere was beautiful, the service was excellent, and the attention to detail really stood out. I truly enjoyed my time there and would definitely recommend Gigi Rooftop to anyone looking for a great experience.

    This is such a beautiful space; their cocktails are truly the best. We had exceptional service from everyone, especially our waitress, Tash. She made sure to take care of us and gave us really good suggestions when we were indecisive. We're definitely coming back here soon
